About Kenny
I’m Kenny, a Bristol-based UKCP trainee psychotherapist. What drew me to this work is my own healing journey and the sense that something in how we live keeps us distant from ourselves – our bodies, imagination – and each other and the web of life. I’ve found that healing happens when we are able to stay with what is difficult, from a place that feels resourced and connected. From there, old patterns begin to soften and new ways of being open up.
My Background
I’m a UKCP trainee psychotherapist (Holding a Post graduate diploma in Core Process Psychotherapy, currently working towards UKCP registration) having completed a 5 year training with the Karuna Institute. I’m a member of ACPP, with additional trainings completed at Re-vision and the Tariki Trust. My background as an anthropologist and over a decade of experience in social change work has given me a deep appreciation for how change and transformation happen individually and collectively.
My Approach
I offer embodied, relational, depth psychotherapy – an approach that works against the grain of a culture that’s orientated toward buying stuff, quick fixes and certainty. My training supports me to work in the messy, human spaces where transformation is possible: in the body, in relationship, in the spaces beneath and between what’s easily said. Bringing my own lived experience to this work, I know healing isn’t linear – it’s a journey of self-discovery – and those parts of us that have been exiled – the body, imagination, real connection – are often exactly what’s ready to be met.
What matters most to me is creating a space where you can be fully yourself – with all your complexity, your struggles, and your wisdom. Within the therapeutic relationship, we explore what life is asking of you and find our way back to wholeness.
Working Together
Whether you’re seeking individual therapy or group support, I bring understanding of both personal and collective change. I work with people navigating:
- Life transitions and change – endings, beginnings, and the uncertain spaces in between
- Emotional difficulties – anxiety, depression, overwhelm, disconnection
- Trauma and healing – processing difficult experiences and their impact
- Relationship challenges – patterns in connection with others and yourself
- Meaning and purpose – finding direction and what makes you feel alive
- Eco-anxiety and climate distress – feelings about our changing world
- Burnout and resilience – especially for those working in social change
Expect a space that’s both grounded and exploratory – attending to your story and how experiences live in your body.
Practice for the freedom and wellbeing of all
I believe that until everyone is free, no one truly is. Grounded in the Buddhist understandings of interbeing, for me, personal healing and social justice are deeply interconnected. My practice is grounded in anti-oppression and decolonial approaches, informed by thinkers like Dr Lucieta Nieto and the Gesturing toward decolonial futures collective. I recognise that personal healing occurs within systems of power and oppression, and I’m committed to creating space that honours all identities and experiences. I welcome clients across the full spectrum of gender, sexuality, class, ethnicity and other lived experience.
We as individuals are not separate from the impacts of climate, ecological and systemic breakdowns and I like to offer a space where the profound impacts of this can be welcomed and met. Healing, social justice and climate breakdown are intimately connected and the intention of my work is offer possibilities for the emergence of new ways of being. This important work cannot be done alone and I work with the Work That Reconnects Network, Healthy Human Culture, the Climate Psychology Alliance and Collective Imagination Practice Community.
May all beings everywhere be free.
